Mahmudullah is capped as the third captain of “Mohammedan Sporting Club”

The acclaimed all-rounder and the former Bangladeshi skipper Mahmudullah has been capped as the skipper of the Mohammedan Sporting Club for the rest of the matches that they will encounter in the DPL (Dhaka Premier League 2024-2025). This firm decision has been made after their former captain Tamim Iqbal fell ill and later reported that he had a heart attack during the match which took place on 4 March 2025. 

So, Towhid Hridoy became the second captain of the team who led the team towards the ray of victory by breaching their rival Abahani after 9 years and 11 matches. But his uncontrollable temper towards the umpire and violating the code of conduct which reflected in taking actions against him such as – ban for two matches & fined Tk 80,000.

As their key players are not available, the team has come up with the idea of making Mahmudullah an experienced player as their third captain. The arrival of Mushifiqur and the new captaincy is expected to eventually enhance the performance of the team in the rest of the matches.
