The prime time of the daytime, which was around 1 pm the news channels and media were buzzing around suddenly and a second raid of ACC (Anti-Corruption Commission) took place at the office of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Following the unresolved allegations imposed over BCB, post the 15 April 2025 raid, they arrived today to investigate the financial irregularities of the organization.
What are the key allegations?
- The deduction of application fee for the “Third Divisional League” in 2023 from 5 lakh Taka to 1 lakh Taka had surged the total number of applications.
- This led to suspicions of favouritism or manipulation within the BCB management.
- The discrepancies in the ticket sales from 3rd to 10th seasons for the popular cricket tournament ‘BPL’.
- Due to pandemic, “Mujib 100” celebrations were called off but ACC claims that 25 crore Taka had been allocated in which 7 crore Taka were spent. Yet it is clarified properly yet.
Summing up, with all these allegations the BCB is highlighted as the core response for the clarification over all this and the investigation of ACC is still going on with no revelation of findings yet.
