The grand new opening of Bangladesh’s student film culture kicked off with the launch of ‘Jagannath University Film Festival’ which was held for three days from 23 to 25 June 2025. This film festival had been organised by the JNUF Society with the aim of uniting the young filmmakers, students, and the cinephiles together to commemorate the excellent films and storytelling. Many creative works have premiered under the categories of short film, non-competitive and special showcases.
Along with the screenings, workshops and the discussions over the movies and the making was organised and led by the acclaimed professionals who shared their words of experiences and insights that were practical to impose into filmmaking, advertising and other creative processes. This first edition was widely welcomed by both the seasoned and emerging movie makers for the lively atmosphere which reflected the passion of Bangladesh’s next generation of filmmakers.
