On Monday, a horrific tragedy hit the Far Eastern country of Bangladesh when a military fighter plane crashed into a school in the country’s capital, Dhaka. The jet accident involving the Bangladesh Air Force involved the death of 31 persons, and the majority who died were young children. The fatal Bangladesh jet flight has made every person in the country angry, and they are taking to the streets to protest.

The F-7 BGI fighter jet produced by China crashed into the Milestone School and College when it was under a training flight. On collision with the school building, the aircraft caught fire, leaving many learners trapped. The majority of the deceased people were children below 12 years of age, preparing to go home after school.

Students Demand Justice After Bangladesh Air Force Tragedy

Those students organized a protest on the streets as there was a terrible crash of the Bangladesh Air Force jet at the end of which hundreds of students were injured. The irate students are asking the government some questions on why this horrible accident ever occurred in their school.

Why did our brothers die? We demand answers!” cried the protesting schoolchildren as the government authorities came to the scene of the crash. The students are calling for several important changes:

  • Compensation money given to families of the jet crash in Bangladesh
  • Removal of old and dangerous military aircraft from service
  • Revision of the regulations of air force training to prevent the presence of jets near schools and home environments
  • A list of all the victims of the fighter jet crash is comprehensive

The tension of the student protests escalated even more when several hundred demonstrators invaded one of the buildings of the government in Dhaka. The protesters had forced the Bangladesh Air Force tragedy because they wanted the education minister to step down, and police had to disperse them.

Heartbroken Families Mourn Victims of Fighter Jet Accident

Abul Hossain, whose daughter, Nusrat Jahan Anika of age 9 years, was killed in the crash, said with tears in his eyes: “I took her to school yesterday in the morning as usual. I did not think that it was the last time I was seeing her.” On the same night when the Bangladesh Air Force jet crashed, his daughter was buried.

Bangladesh jet body. The official report indicated that 31 died in Bangladesh jet crash and 165 others were rushed to hospitals in the region of Dhaka. Approximately 70 individuals continue to be treated medicinally as the result of injuries caused by the aircraft disaster.

The downed F-7 BGI war plane was produced by China and modeled after an ancient Soviet aircraft known as the MiG-21. In 2011, Bangladesh purchased 16 of these aircraft, and they were all delivered in 2013. The air crash leading to the death of the entire Bangladesh air force jet was a result of a mechanical problem experienced during the training flight, which was reported by the military.
