In 2025, the global community is facing a multitude of humanitarian crises affecting millions. These emergencies stem from a combination of protracted armed conflicts, political instability, economic collapse and climate disasters.
The scale and complexity of these crises challenge international aid efforts and place millions of people at risk of hunger, displacement, disease and death. Let us take a look at some of the most serious crises.
Global humanitarian crises in 2025
1. Sudan
More than 14 million people in Sudan are internally displaced – mostly because of brutal fighting engaging the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The food insecurity situation there is deteriorating.
