Bangladeshi Short Film ‘Ali’ joins the race of 78th Cannes’ Palme d’Or

Director Adnan Al Rajeev’s short film ‘Ali’ has officially entered into the race of 78th Cannes’ Palme d’Or under the category of short films, with this ‘Ali’ has become the first short film to enter into the Cannes. The Bangladesh film industry is sharing their proud moment and the historical achievement on diverse social media platforms. 

Highlighting factors of ‘Ali’

  • ‘Ali’ competed with 4700 submissions worldwide. 
  • And it made its way into the Cannes’ among the 11 selected short films.
  • This was shot in Sylhet, Bangladesh in November 2024.
  • The story plot is not revealed overtly yet.

This 78th edition of Cannes’ will take place from 13-23 May 2025 and the following are the selected short films for this global event.
