What draws you into a music show? The voice. But this year, it’s also the thrill of surprises, new coaches, fresh talent, heartfelt stories. The Voice Australia’s 2025 season kicked off on August 10, and already fans are buzzing about who’s singing, who’s guiding them and what moments will stay with us. First, the coaches. Only one familiar face stays, Kate Miller-Heidke returns with warmth and curiosity. But joining her are exciting newcomers: Spice Girl legend Melanie C, Grammy-winner Richard Marx, and returning favorite Ronan Keating after a long break. This mix means fresh energy, global flair, and heartfelt guidance all in one.
Then, there are the contestants, each with a spark that made coaches slam that button. For example, Jakamo Sharpe from Melbourne wowed with “Beggin’” and chose Team Richard with all four coaches turning. Then there’s young Bianka Jakovljevic, just 16, whose powerful vocals earned four chair turns too, also landing in Team Richard. In Team Kate, teenage Charlie O’Derry impressed with emotional range, performance Kate described as “breathtaking”
On Team Melanie, Lilli Vitagliano made a memorable moment, performing a Spice Girls hit and even joining Mel C on stage, that’s a connection in full swing. Meanwhile, Matthias Gault from Perth sang “When You Were Young” so strongly, even Chris Martin sent a video message cheering him on and still earned a chair turn.
