On 7 May, India executed a planned operation of Pakistan ‘Operation Sindoor’ to retaliate for the latter’s open fire terrorist attack in Pahalgam that happened a fortnight ago taking the lives of 26 innocent civilians.
Bangladesh has now urged both India and Pakistan to remain calm and restraint from taking any terror activities that will aggravate the situation more. “The Government of Bangladesh is closely observing the evolving situation in India and Pakistan. Bangladesh expresses its deep concern over the situation and urges both countries to remain calm, show restraint, and refrain from taking any steps that could further aggravate the situation. In the spirit of regional peace, prosperity and stability, Bangladesh remains hopeful that tensions will be diffused through diplomatic endeavours, and that peace will ultimately prevail for the benefit of the peoples in the region”, reported ANI.
The nation has now alerted the bordering district to remain on standby to not experience any security breach. “A warning has been given to the police superintendents of the bordering districts so that the security of Bangladesh is not disrupted due to the India-Pakistan conflict,” a police headquarter statement read.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam asked police supers in bordering districts to remain alert so Bangladesh’s security was not hampered in view of India-Pakistan conflict, during an award ceremony for shooting competition of police officers at Gulshan.
