Both the working people in both public and private sectors, and students were happy to hear of the 10-day holiday declared by the interim government of Bangladesh ahead of the auspicious Islamic festival Eid-ul-Azha. Today, the Ministry of Education has announced that the holiday for summer and Eid-ul-Azha for both government & private colleges will begin from 3 June and end on 12 June 2025. Whereas, the government primary schools will be closed from 3 – 23 June 2025.
The Secondary and Higher Education Department has published a directive, it states that all the educational institutions including government, semi-government, autonomous and private and its offices will be open on Saturdays [that is – 17 & 24 May 2025] to compensate for the Eid holiday on 11 and 12 June.
Also, the বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক has circulated a notice to the Managing Directors of all the banks and financial institutions regarding the working day which will be observed on 17 and 24 May 2025, Saturdays. This is to compensate for the Eid holidays declared by the interim government.
