A long legal battle has come to an end against the former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and she was sentenced to six months of jail by the International Crimes Tribunal-1 of Bangladesh for contempt of court. The case against Sheikh Hasina was stemmed when she criticised the previous rulings of the tribunal about the war crimes cases. Today, the judgement was carried out by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder.
In 2024, Sheikh Hasina stepped down from her powers and fled away from the country to India for the sake of securing herself from the rising protests against her government. Also, she couldn’t present herself before the court due to the internal crisis. Along with her, Shakil Akand Bulbul was also co-accused and sentenced for two months of jail.
