A Turkish flight, TK713 while it was destined to reach Istanbul, met with a bird strike unfortunately and to avoid the further risks, the flight was forced to land at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, in Dhaka. As per the given information the bird strike had caused a spark in the engine swiftly after the takeoff.
“We would like to inform you that flight TK713 on 20 May was grounded due to an AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situation following an emergency landing at Dhaka Airport. The aircraft had to return shortly after a successful takeoff due to an unexpected bird strike on engine 2” – Turkish Airlines
The executive director of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Ragib Samad who said that,
“The aircraft hit a bird during takeoff, causing sparks from one of the engines. The pilot made an emergency landing as a precaution”.
Further the airlines confirmed that all the passengers, crew members and aircraft are safe. And it takes time for the repair, so the passengers were sent to nearby hotels with comfort to take rest during this unfortunate period.
