27 Year old Ace Bangladesh All Rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz receives the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for April 2025. The recognition comes after Mehidy Hasan’s performance against Zimbabwe, giving an allround showcase of his skill set with bat and ball. Hasan was closely followed for the award by the Zimbabwean Pacer Blessing Muzarabani and the Right Arm Kiwi pacer Ben Sears.
Bagging his first ICC Men’s Player of the Month award, Mehidy Hasan also joins two of his fellow Bangladesh Cricketers to receive the recognition – Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan. Hasan secured 15 wickets and 116 runs in the Test matches against Zimbabwe with an average of 38.86.

Sharing his excitement in being named as Player of the Month, Hasan said, “It’s an incredible honour to win the ICC Men’s Player of the Month. The ICC Awards are the ultimate recognition for any cricketer, and to receive this from a global vote means a lot to me.” He also compared the inspiration and the fuel he needed to push himself after receiving the Player of the Tournament in 2016 at the U-19 World Cup.

Although Zimbabwe trumped over Mehidy Hasan’s two Five wicket hauls in both the first and the second innings, it was his grit and spinning ability that gave a tough fight for the visitors in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh tied the series with Zimbabwe, thanks to Hasan’s capability in swinging the bat and another five wicket haul in the second innings of the second and final Test with an impressive 5/32 and also scoring a century, bringing a convincing leverage for the hosts in the series. Mehidy Hasan also in the Top 5 Bangladesh players to win most Player of the Match in International games.
