BCCI could call off the upcoming Ind vs Ban tour due to Political Tension

The upcoming India tour of বাংলাদেশ is likely to be called off due to the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh where there are religious rifts and the Sheikh Hasina Government dissolution are heightening the situation. 

The Indian Men’s tour of Bangladesh was initially set to commence from August 17 and planned to end on 31 of the month with the fixtures being 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. This tournament is now on the brink of indefinite postponement due to the tough political climate in the host country. 

According to News18 the tournament call off can be due to the unsettling diplomatic conditions from the collapse of Sheikh Hasina government that is also affecting the neighbouring countries, including India. This in turn has raised the concerns of the safety of the players. 

Although there is no official announcement made by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), it is also heavily said that the official have received no Invitation To Tender (ITT) for the series, reinforcing the likelihood of the postponement.

This means fans who were waiting for the return of the recently retired Test players and former Indian skippers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in action are going to wait for the Australia series, set to happen in October- November playing three ODIs and five T20Is.
