Notun Kuri Sports is a nationwide youth talent hunt that will kick off on the 2nd of May 2026 with a star-studded opening ceremony at Sylhet District Stadium. Tarique Rahman is likely to launch the program, which is a major step towards developing sports at the grassroots. With over 1.6 lakh registrations already done, the volume of participation speaks volumes about the huge enthusiasm among the young athletes across the country.
A Vision Beyond Competition
The initiative has been organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Bangladesh, and it’s not just about the short-term competition. It aims to identify, train and develop young talent who can eventually represent the nation at the national and international level. But the bigger aim is to change the perception of sports from a hobby to a valid and respectable profession, and also encourage physical fitness among the youth.
