Bangladesh’s Eid al-Adha livestock markets are being dominated by two unlikely stars: a rare albino buffalo named “Donald Trump” and a colossal bull called “Mr Bangladesh,” both drawing thousands of curious visitors ahead of the festival.
“Donald Trump” – The Albino Buffalo with a Signature Hairstyle
The showstopper is a nearly 700 kg albino buffalo raised at a farm in Narayanganj district near Dhaka. Locals nicknamed it “Donald Trump” because of its flowing blonde hair falling across its forehead, which strikingly resembles U.S. President Donald Trump’s signature hairstyle.
This cream-colored buffalo has a pinkish nose and long blond hair that creates an uncanny resemblance to Donald Trump. The farm is located in Paikpara, Narayanganj district, close to Dhaka. The buffalo has already been sold and will be sacrificed for Eid al-Adha. It is known for its gentle temperament, which has made it a crowd favourite among visitors.
The buffalo has become an internet sensation, with visitors flocking to catch a glimpse before its sacrifice.
“Mr Bangladesh” – The Giant Bull from Meherpur
Beyond buffaloes, the season’s other major attraction is “Mr Bangladesh,” a giant bull from Meherpur that has become one of the biggest draws at Eid markets this year. Like “Donald Trump,” it owes its fame to its extraordinary size and distinctive presence, fitting a growing trend in Bangladesh where unusually large or unique sacrificial animals are given celebrity-inspired names to attract buyers and visitors.
