Who Qualifies for the Tk2,500 Monthly Female Household Allowance?
Eligible beneficiaries are families identified as economically vulnerable through PMT (Proxy Means Test) scoring and the Dynamic Social Registry (DSR). Key criteria:
- Female head of household: The card and allowance are issued in the mother/female head’s name
- Low-income / economically weaker section: Families must fall below the government’s poverty threshold, as determined by the survey and scoring
- Permanent resident of Bangladesh: Valid NID and proof of residence required
- No government employee in the household (in many cases): Households with regular government jobs are often excluded from similar schemes
- Family size and basic needs documented: Number of members, monthly income, and basic living conditions are assessed
Initially, 10,000 families will receive the card in 14 pilot units, then expanded by 10,000 per phase to reach 40,000 families by June 2026. All surveyed eligible families will eventually be included.

- NID card and photocopy of the applicant (female head)
- ND card (if applicable) and photocopy
- Two passport-size photos of the applicant, plus two more for other key members
- A mobile SIM purchased using the applicant’s NID; allowances will be sent to this SIM-linked number
- Birth registration (online) for all family members
- Monthly income statement/certificate (from union or upazila authority)
- Family report paper listing all members and their details
- Character/identity certificate from the chairman or a member

- Visit your upazila social welfare office
- Submit all documents and the completed application form
- Officials will verify and register your family in the Dynamic Social Registry

- Fill in personal and family details accurately

How the Allowance is Paid
