The Bangladeshi Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) started this government film grant initiative to extend their hands to the filmmakers, producers seeking the aid to expand their career progressively with proper funding and permissions. Also, they encourage movies that are creative, deeply rooted in culture and reflect the society we live in. Thus, it is considered to be a crucial activity carried out by the government to uphold their local movies.

For the fiscal year 2024-2025, the MIB has set the deadline as 7 April 2025 initially but now they have changed to 27 April 2025.

  • It is eligible only to Bangladeshi filmmakers and producers.
  • Story outline, screenplay, production plan, and the complete details of cast & crew – must be submitted in twelve copies.
  • They have permitted for upto 12 length films (minimum 70 minutes) and upto 20 short films (maximum 30 minutes). Total – 32 projects.

Compared to the previous year, the Ministry has changed the permissions by expanding the limits. This will predominantly encourage the makers to refine their proposals with all the required materials.
