Tourism in Bangladesh provides varied experiences ranging from UNESCO World Heritage Sites and historic monuments to beaches, forests, and tribal culture. Tourist attractions include river cruising, trekking, fishing, yachting, and sunbathing, displaying the natural and cultural richness of the country.

Sajek

Sajek Valley is a favourite holiday destination in Bangladesh located in the hills of the Kasalong range of hills in northern Chittagong Hill Tracts. With lush greenery and lovely views all around it, it’s a peaceful haven for nature lovers.

Cox’s Baza

Cox’s Bazar is famous for its long sandy beach stretching from Sea Beach to Kolatoli Beach. Another favourite tourist spot is the ancient Aggameda Khyang monastery containing bronze Buddha sculptures and ancient manuscripts. Sea turtles’ breeding centres on Sonadia Island and waterfalls at Himchari National Park are adjacent tourist spots.

Sundarbans

The Sundarbans is a huge mangrove forest in the Ganges Delta, created where the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Meghna Rivers converge. It runs from West Bengal, India, to Khulna Division, Bangladesh, and is famous for its high biodiversity and the famous Royal Bengal Tiger.

Dhakeshwari Temple

It is owned by the state, which renders to it the status of being Bangladesh’s ‘National Temple’. “Dhakeshwari” is a name that signifies “Goddess of Dhaka”. Bangladesh is the only nation in the world with a National Hindu Temple.

Bagerhat

Bagerhat district, with an area of 44,959.11 sq km, is endowed with rivers such as the Panguchi, Pasur, and Madhumati. Famous for its old mosques, Bagerhat city was established by the Muslim saint Khan Jahan Ali and is famous for its Islamic heritage and architectural wonders. 

Kaptai Lake

Kaptai Lake, the largest artificial lake in Bangladesh, is situated in Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati District of the Chittagong Division. Created by building the Kaptai Dam on the Karnaphuli River, it is an important part of the Karnafuli Hydropower Station and a well-known tourist destination.
