The action of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will resume today after senior players of Bangladesh withdrew their boycott by a late-night meeting with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB). It had led to a cancellation of Thursday of the BPL and Dhaka league matches due to protest by players who objected to remarks and statements made by BCB director M Nazmul Islam.

The CWAB had associated a revival with play with the sacking of Nazmul and a personal apology regarding his offensive remarks. Following a very tough negotiation late on Thursday in the BCB office at Gulshan, the board voted him out of the finance committee and gave them the assurance and the players agreed to play again the next day on Friday.

Late-Night Breakthrough

Such leaders of the team as CWAB president Mohammad Mithun and the best national players came to an agreement with the board personnel and prevented the futile further interference and opened the BPL to its usual course.
