How to Apply For an E-Passport in Bangladesh in 2025?

And to apply for the E-Passport is made easy and accessible to all the individuals in 2025. The guidelines are available for both the first time applicant and the transitioning applicants from a Machine Readable Passport (MRP).

What is E-Passport & its significance?

An E-Passport is considered to be more safe and enhanced with security than the normal passport, since it has the embedded electronic microchip which reduces the chances of identity fraud or any other scams around it. Also, it speeds up the immigration checks through the automated e-gates at the airports to ensure a safer and an efficient journey.

How To Apply for an E-Passport in Bangladesh?

Initially visit the official website – www.epassport.gov.
Then create an Online Account Using – NID, email, & phone number
If the applicant is below the age of 18 use the BRC (Birth Registration Certificate) to create the account
Fill the application with all the relevant personal details
Then you need to select the type and delivery speed which includes

– 48 or 64 Pages

– 5 or 10 Years Validity

– Regular (15-21 days)/Express (7-10) /Super Express (2 days)

After that you need to upload all the required documents

– NID or BRC

– Previous Passport (If Applicable)

– Other Additional Documents like NOC, etc

Then you will be proceeded to pay the Passport Fee either online or through bank challan
After paying the fee successfully download the application and the appointment slip which contains barcode and appointment date
During your biometric appointment you must have the following original documents
There your photo, fingerprint and digital signature will be taken
After your appointment you can check out your application status using the Application ID on the official website of E-Passport
Once approved you will receive your E-Passport based on the delivery type you have chosen.
