On 12 June 2025, Professor Muhammad Yunus was welcomed by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace and with the presence of a private audience Professor Yunus received the prestigious “King Charles III Harmony Award 2025” which is scheduled at St.James Palace. This award is presented to honor his lifelong commitment to promote peace, social justice, and his transformative global impact in empowering the poor by reinforcing sustainability through microcredit and social business innovations. 

This international recognition can be viewed as a monumental achievement of his political career and his enduring work to build a prone world. And this honour highlights the support of the UK government for the ethical leadership and global cooperation in addressing modern socio-economic challenges. Professor Yunus created history by becoming the first Bangladeshi leader to receive this honorary award. 

The four day visit of Professor Yunus will end on 14 June 2025 after the private consultation with BNP leader Tarique Rahman, asset recovery discussions, and the meetings with Commonwealth and IMO officials. It is a blend of diplomacy, recognition and reform-oriented dialogue that fosters the reinforcement of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
