Journalists play a key role in catering the breaking news regarding any particular sector or a national issue to their people across the globe.Freedom of speech, expression are important to transmit that which is termed as ‘Press Freedom Index’. Because it reflects how the policies and law of a country allows the journalists to report the news without any censorship or sugar coated due to political pressure. So, this has been estimated yearly by the Paris head quartered stat company RSF (Reporters Without Borders) and this year also they have unfurled.

What is the position of Bangladesh?
Bangladesh has witnessed unrest incidents for the past few months due to political disruptions. But now the country is reverting back to its normal form under the leadership of their Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus. The positive sign has been reflecting in various sectors and the RSF report also indicates that it is true because Bangladesh which was in the position of 165 in 2024 has advanced to the 149th position in 2025. Also the overall score has increased from 27.64 to 33.71, and it is reported that this is the first time ever since 2018.

Such milestones can help a country to maintain their global image successfully for attracting more investment potential and diplomatic relations.
