UAE-Bangladesh Diplomatic ties strengthen with new visa and trade agreements

A milestone initiative has been taken during the diplomatic meeting held between UAE Ambassador Abdulla Ali AlHmoudi and the Special Envoy to the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, Lutfey Siddiqi. The meaningful steps to resume the visa services for Bangladeshi nationals following the consistent diplomatic efforts taken by both the nations. On 4 May 2025, both the officials met in Dhaka and UAE ambassador acknowledged the proactive role of Special Envoy of Chief Advisor which is focused on easing the visa processes and strengthening investment ties. 

The UAE Embassy has issued 30 to 50 visit visas everyday, and processing has been accelerated for bulk business visas too. One of the key breakthroughs during their meeting is the reactivation of the UAE’s skilled employment visa system, with marketing professionals, hotel staff, and over 500 security guards already benefiting. In addition to that 1000 visas have been approved and the UAE Ambassador has promised for a continued flexibility will be practiced for humanitarian cases. The Bangladesh government warmly welcomed this huge initiative and lauded the ongoing CEPA negotiations. Later this month, a high-level UAE cabinet delegation is expected to take place in Dhaka.
