The 1st test match between New Zealand A and Bangladesh A began a little delayed due to rain on 14 May 2025. The first day began with the batting of New Zealand A and their first innings wasn’t as satisfying as they expected. But the brilliant batting of Mitchell Hay who was the only highest scorer in his team with 81 off 134 runs helped the team to put up the total of 256 at the end.

Equally Struggling 1st Innings

Khaled Ahmed of Bangladesh A completed his five-wicket haul and ended his 1st innings with 6/59 with the economy of 2.76. Bangladesh A began their 1st innings on the second day who were also struggling to find an anchoring partnership. There came the savior of Bangladesh A Nurul Hasan and registered his century. He lost his wicket to Clarke at 107 off 88. The wobbling innings ended at 268/10.

2nd innings : A Tough Encounter

With 16 runs behind NZ A commenced their 2nd innings the promising knock of Joe Carter’s 58 and Nick Kelly’s jaw dropping & a magical 122 their innings was completed at 256. And the target for BAN A to win the 1st unofficial test was 245. Both BAN A and NZ A were exhibiting their strategies of confining their opponents, yet it worked perfectly for New Zealand as the pitch favoured the bowlers majorly.

The momentum of the victory from the last ODI has really helped them to approach their new challenge positively. And they wrapped BAN A in 175, with New Zealand A leading the series 1-0. In the second innings, NZ A’s Aditya Ashok registered his trailblazing 5-wicket haul on the fourth day.
