Bangladesh pacer Mushtafizur Rahman has pulled out of the Pakistan series that is set to happen this week due to a hand injury from his last IPL match of the season, leaving a big drawback for his national side.
Mushtafizur Rahman who was called in to play for the Delhi Capitals as a replacement for Jake Fraser McGurk. He sustained a left hand injury from trying to return a catch off of Josh Inglis. Now he is still reeling from the injury which will take two to three weeks to recover from.
“Mustafizur suffered a clip fracture on his left thumb while playing his last match of the Indian Premier League yesterday. This injury requires a period of rest and rehabilitation. We will conduct a follow-up evaluation after two weeks to monitor his recovery progress,” said Delowar Hossain, Bangladesh Physio, reported ESPNCricinfo.
Although Delhi Capitals finished fifth, Mushtafizur Rahman played three matches and took 4 wickets including 3/33 vs PBKS and 1/30 vs MI.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that Mushtafizur Rahman will be replaced by Khaled Ahmed. Already the Bangladesh team misses out Nahid Rana who opted out of the Pakistan series due to personal and security reasons. Although Rahman is a huge miss for the team, Khaled Ahmed has a strong form from the recent Bangladesh Cricket League, taking 20 wickets.
Bangladesh will be facing Pakistan for three T20 match series on 28 and 30 May and 1 June 2025.
