Joining India’s growing injury list, wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, an integral part of the five match ICC World Test Championship now faces a break from the rest of the series. The leg fracture from Lord’s test worsened after a nasty blow to his right foot in Old Trafford, pushing Pant to take the back seat from batting for the upcoming matches.
Pant will be available to bat if required but will not be available behind the stumps. An official statement from the BCCI confirmed the announcement saying, “Rishabh Pant, who sustained an injury to his right foot on Day 1 of the Manchester Test, will not be performing wicket-keeping duties for the remainder of the match.”
A special half-century this has been! 🙌 🙌

Dhruv Jurel is called in to replace Pant with the gloves while the selectors are yet to decide on a more reliable batsman to replace Pant. With the looming injury scare over Team India, the right handed keeper – batsman Jagadeesan is a top contender to replace Pant.
India is lacking all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy for the rest of the series and pacer Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh due to injuries following the Lord’s Test and now to have Pant in the bench will be a huge blow for the team who are nursing after a 2-1 disadvantage in the series.
