Under the cloudy sky the historical World Test Championship Final 2025 between South Africa and Australia began with the national anthem chanting the glorious history of both the nation’s and their legacy in cricket all these years. With smiles, hope, and a long term dream the day commenced with South Africa’s Skipper Temba Bavuma winning the toss and chose to field first.

Why does it look like ‘Luck Favouring Temba Bavuma’?

As per the WTC Final stats shared by the experts, the team who played at the Lord’s Stadium by choosing to bowl first has won the game 4 times. While it is completely opposite to the team who chose to bat first, they have lost all the four games.

In 2025, Bavuma won the toss and chose to bowl first, speculations and hopes are getting higher that this decision could favour SA Men’s majorly. At the end of the first session, SA Men’s has dominated by taking four major wickets of Australia’s top-order batsmen which includes  Khawaja, Labuschagne, Cameron Green, and Travis Head. And the pacers are dominating the first day, yet the supporters of Australia are happy that one of the experienced batters Steve Smith with more than 10,000 runs in test cricket is still on the crease.

This year has been a year of young and inexperienced talents who took the stage through their terrific performances. Similarly, SA with the young playing XI might wrap the experienced side of Australia within the below par score at the end of the first innings.
