The second edition of the Global Super League 2025 began on 10 July 2025 with five teams including Central Districts, Dubai Capitals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Hobart Hurricanes, and Rangpur Riders. Players from various regions will be taken into the team through auction like the other league tournaments. Among which the Bangladeshi players are making a strong impression with their skills and strategy that stumbles their opponents. By observing their performances both on the local and at the international games the team has opted the list of players like Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Nurul Hasan, Yasir Ali and others in the first & current season.
The entire spotlight now falls on the seasoned player Shakib Al Hasan who represents the Dubai Capitals in GSL 2025. He entered the crease in the opening match between Dubai Capitals and Central Districts. And he displayed his years of legacy in the T20 format by scoring a prominent half century and four wickets during the second half of the match. With this he became the first player in the history of GSL to score and to garner the cluster of wickets in the same game.
His supremacy doesn’t stop there, Shakib earns a prestigious milestone of becoming the highest paid Bangladeshi Player in the GSL under the premier asset of his team. The remuneration of his in the GSL haven’t been revealed overtly but the available sources collectively underpin that based on the marquee signing and global reputation he is regarded as the highest paid player of Bangladesh.
