As unstable weather patterns continue in the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh has issued a Maritime Signal Alert #3 at several important coastal and river ports. The Maritime Signal Alert 3 warns mariners that winds are expected to be at an average of 35 to 45 KPH, and waves will be rough, due to squally conditions, especially for smaller vessels.
For the duration of the alert, fishing vessels and trawlers should remain close to the coast or in a sheltered area until conditions improve. If there are rough waters due to weather, open waters may not be safe.
