Today is a historic day for the young dreamers and grassroots sports followers of Bangladesh. The Notun Kuri Sports 2026 has officially begun with the participation of more than 160,000 young performers from across the country. This tournament is not only a competition but also a chance to discover new talents and give them their first opportunity to be part of the professional sports league. The program will take place across the country with thousands of athletes competing against each other. With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we can hope that many young athletes will succeed in their dream of becoming professional players. The much-awaited Notun Kuri Sports 2026 was launched with more than 160,000 children from all over the country participating.

Organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, this national talent hunt is more than just a competition. It is a chance for young athletes to take their first real step toward a professional sporting career.

Who Could Participate?

This program is for children between the ages of 12 and 14 years. Participants must be born between May 2, 2012 and May 2, 2014, to qualify. Registration was open until April 27 and required a handful of basic documents—like a verified birth certificate, a school certificate, a passport-size photo and a guardian’s ID. The idea was to keep it structured but still accessible to students from all backgrounds.

A Wide Range of Sports

What’s exciting about this initiative is the breadth of sports it covers. If you are a fan of team games or more of an individual performer, there is something for everyone. Football, cricket (T10 format), kabaddi, athletics, badminton, chess, martial arts and swimming will be the sports provided for the participants. Separate categories for boys and girls ensure both have equal opportunities to shine. This diverse mix also reflects a larger goal of finding talent outside of the mainstream sports world and giving recognition to up-and-coming disciplines.

How the Competition Will Play Out

Notun Kuri Sports 2026 has a structure designed to filter and nurture talent step by step. It starts at the level of upazila, where the first selections are made. Players selected then proceed to district rounds and then to regional competition in 10 zones. The best will then qualify for the national level at Dhaka. This is a fast-paced, competitive adventure, with regional rounds tentatively scheduled between May 13 and May 22.

More than Medals

Trophies aren’t the be-all and end-all of winning here. The performers will receive medals, certificates and most importantly, priority opportunities for training at BKSP (Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan). For many youth athletes, this could be the game-changer that changes their entire career path.

What to Do Next

If you or someone you know has already registered, it is time to stay updated. The candidates can check their application status through the official portal by using their registration number. Schools and local institutions are promoting the event.

Summary

Notun Kuri Sports 2026 is less of a competition and more of a movement. It is about giving young talent a platform, a direction and a real opportunity to dream big. And who knows?  Today, it could be the start of the next national star.
