LOS ANGELES: The Avengers: Endgame Encore re-release has grossed more than $126 million worldwide, lifting Avengers: Endgame back to the top of the all-time box office chart and pushing Marvel Studios past $35 billion globally.
Encore Success
The re-release opened on September 25 with $86 million worldwide, the second-biggest global re-release opening ever, behind the 2012 Titanic 3D release. It also carried a tweaked ending and new post-credit scenes linked to Avengers: Doomsday. In its second weekend, the film added $4.4 million domestically and $14.4 million overseas.
Record Reclaimed
Endgame now stands at an estimated $2.9255 billion worldwide, just ahead of Avatar’s $2.9237 billion, a gap of only about $1.8 million. Avatar took the crown in 2021 after a China re-release and has since added several more.
