Why She Was at Court
Pori Moni surrendered and sought bail in a case filed by businessman Nasir Uddin over assault, vandalism and intimidation. He filed it on July 6, 2022. A day earlier, an arrest warrant had been issued against her. A police investigation in 2024 found evidence of assault and intimidation against her and her costume designer. Charges were framed in January 2025. Acting Judge Mahfuzur Rahman granted her bail on a Tk500 bond.
The Phone Snatching
She arrived around 9:30am, surrounded by about 11 guards in black. At around 11:40am, as she entered a lift, she snatched the phone of Samakal multimedia reporter Robiul Hossain while he was recording her. He later took it back. One report says the reporter also alleged she broke his tripod.

As she left, Pori Moni confronted a journalist and accused him of touching her inappropriately. In a video, she is heard asking how he dared touch her. She told other reporters to check their footage to find him. The reporter strongly denied the claim. He said he was only doing his job, filming, and asked why he would touch her. No evidence has been made public to support the touch allegation, and we found no formal response from her on the phone snatching.
The Injured Court Visitor
Court visitor Sujan Chandra Moni Das suffered a bleeding head injury. His brother said the actress’s guards pushed him as he stood in the corridor. The guards have not publicly responded to this claim.
