Bangladesh World Cup 2027

Bangladesh now know their path at the World Cup 2027 Men’s Cricket. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule on 2 October, placing the Tigers in Group B alongside England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka. A sixth side, Qualifier B, completes the group.

Bangladesh Open Against England

Bangladesh begin their campaign on 8 October against England in Windhoek. The match kicks off at 10:00 am local time, and it will be the first meeting between two sides who know each other well from recent ODI series.

Bangladesh Full Group B Fixtures

  • 8 October: England v Bangladesh, Windhoek
  • 12 October: New Zealand v Bangladesh, KuGompo City
  • 16 October: Sri Lanka v Bangladesh, Durban
  • 19 October: South Africa v Bangladesh, Durban
  • 23 October: Bangladesh v Qualifier B, Tshwane

Bangladesh stay in Durban for back-to-back games against Sri Lanka and host South Africa, which should help the squad settle into one base during the toughest stretch of the group.

How Qualification Works

Each team plays the other five sides in its group once. The top three teams from each group move into the Super 7 phase, and the better fourth-place finisher across the two groups takes the seventh spot. The best four teams from the Super 7 then reach the semi-finals, and the final is on November 21.

Why the Sri Lanka and South Africa Games Matter

With England and New Zealand likely to be strong, Bangladesh will see the Sri Lanka and Qualifier B matches as key chances for points. A top three finish is the realistic target, and one upset against a bigger side could make it comfortable.

Hosts and Venues

South Africa and Zimbabwe qualified as hosts, while Bangladesh earned a direct place through the ICC ODI Team Rankings cut-off on 30 September 2026. The ICC confirmed twelve venues for the 2027 World Cup on 30 July 2026, with eight in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia.

For Bangladesh fans, the early October clashes with England and New Zealand will set the tone for the whole tournament.
