A severe weather pattern has developed in the Bay of Bengal. The latest forecasts indicate that the current active rain bands are combined with cyclonic circulation. This pattern will bring intermittent phases of very severe weather between late April and early May 2026.

Extreme Risk Locations: Northeast in the Alert
The primary impacts from thisstorm system will occur across the northeastern city of Sylhet as well as throughout greater Sylhet division and several of its districts, as these locations are geographically susceptible to flash flooding and landslides.
In parts of Dhaka and neighbouring districts,s will also be affected by very severe thunderstorms, nor’westers, and spot precipitation events.
