Stepping outside in Dhaka right now feels like walking straight into warm steam. The air is heavy, the roads look hazy by noon, and even short walks are leaving people drenched in sweat. That uncomfortable mix of heat and humidity is expected to stay for several more days across large parts of Bangladesh.

But the bigger concern may arrive later in the afternoon. Weather conditions this week suggest increasing chances of isolated thunderstorms, especially around Dhaka and nearby central districts. While mornings are likely to stay mostly dry, skies could change quickly by evening.

Sunday Weather: Hot Day, Slight Chance of Evening Rain

Sunday is expected to stay mostly hot and partly sunny across Dhaka and nearby areas. Temperatures may hover around 32 to 33 degrees Celsius, though it could feel hotter because of the humidity.

For most people, the day may simply feel exhausting rather than dangerous. Rickshaw pullers, delivery workers, and people commuting during peak afternoon hours will probably feel the heat the most.

Later in the day, there’s a possibility of brief rain showers or isolated thunderstorms. These may not last long, but dark clouds and sudden thunder could develop quickly toward evening.

People planning outdoor activities tonight may want to keep an umbrella nearby instead of assuming the weather will stay clear.

Weekend Forecast Looks More Unsettled

The bigger thunderstorm risk appears to be building toward next weekend.

Forecast models are showing warmer, moisture-heavy conditions across Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, parts of Khulna, and Barishal. That combination often creates fast-developing thunderstorm cells capable of producing strong wind gusts and sudden downpours.

Some storm pockets may even produce winds between 40 and 60 km/h for brief periods.

That doesn’t mean nonstop rain all weekend, but weather conditions could shift very quickly from sunshine to storms.
